“Nelly's Story” premiered in the competition section of the 44th Max Ophüls Film Festival, the most important festival for young filmmakers in the German-speaking world. Since then, the film has been showcased at over 40 festivals worldwide, including in Portugal, Spain, France, the USA, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, and Canada. The streaming service JOYN added the film to its platform before it went viral on YouTube.
